* Hohne Barracks,Germany-some excellent pictures of how it used to look before WW2, when in 1934 the Nazis destroyed some 18 villages after removing and re-housing the population, to make Hohne a panzer training area. Work was completed in 1936 and troops began their training. When hostilities ended in 1945 it became a temporary DP staging camp and then a British Army base! It is very close to the former Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp, now a memorial.
